The South Avon Cemetery is located on the corner of South Avon Rd. and Rt. 39 in plot 247 on the Town of Avon map.

It is a small cemetery of approximately 100 graves bordered by old trees. It overlooks the Genesee Valley with a beautiful vista.

The property was owned and donated by the Paine family on whose farm it was located. There are several Paines buried there, as well as others who lived in the area. Alfred Boyd, the last person to be buried in the cemetery, died in the early 1940s.

The cemetery is an inactive cemetery governed by the Rural Cemetery Act of 1847, which is Town Law 291. This law states that all inactive cemeteries fall under the town's jurisdiction. It is well-maintained by the Town of Avon Highway Department.
