The present City of Bavatia's pioneer cemetery was on West Main Street back of the West Main Street School. No evidence now remains that a cemetery was ever there. Many removals were made to the Batavia Cemetery on Harvester Avenue, then known as Cemetery Street. The plot was deeded by Benjamin Ellicott Aug. 10, 1820. Burials were apparently made before that time. The following are given in Beers' Gazetteer of Genesee County as being left in 1890:

- BUELL, Richard, died 1819.
- MASON, Wheaton, died 1825.
- STARK, W. T., died 1822.
- WILCOX, Oliver, two wives of, one died in 1807, the other in 1824.
