DIED, In Middlefield, on the 9th inst. very suddenly, Capt. Jotham Ames, aged 68, formerly from Bridgewater, Massachusetts, and an officer in our revolutionary army.


APLIN, Betsey Obituary, Saturday, Jan. 12, 1811

DIED - In the town of Hartwick, of the same disease, Mrs. Betsey Aplin, consort of Wm. Aplin, and daughter of Abner Pier, deceased. It is remarkable that in the course of seven weeks four members of this family have fallen victims to the typhus fever.

HOPKINS, Jeremiah Obituary, Sept. 16, 1809

Died, In Hartwick, on the 6th inst. of the Hemiplegy, Mr. Jeremiah Hopkins, in the 65th year of his age - His remains were interred on the Friday following attended by a large concourse of people - He has left an inconsolable widow and a considerable numerous posterity, to lament his death. It is worthy of remark, that in the whole course of Mr. Hopkins' life, he was never afflicted with any illness or disease so much as to require medical aid, until his last sickness. NILES, John Obituary, June 20, 1812

DIED, In Otsego, John Niles, Esq. He was found dead in his bed on Wednesday morning the 17th inst. The preceding evening, just before he retired to rest, he remarked that his health was much better than it had been for a considerable time preceding. A jury of inquest was called, whose verdict was, that he died a natural death. No mark of violence was found on him, nor was any appearance of a struggle perceptible.
