DICKEY, Miss. Ruth Obituary

Miss Ruth Dickey of Mt. Morris died last week from heart trouble. She was the daughter of Robert Dickey. [The Dansville Express, Dansville, NY, April 3. 1913, p. 3]


ENRIGHT, James Obituary

James Enright died at his home on Liberty street yesterday afternoon at the age of 85 years. He was born in County Limerick, Ireland, and came over when three years old, but his father dying in Quebec the mother went back to Ireland where she remained till 1850 when he came back and in 1852 came here. Mr. Enright was a shoemaker and he will be remembered as a cripple. He has been confined to his house about 12 years, in bed 2 years, but he has had the good care of two sisters who came from New York to look after him. A mass will be said at 7:30 Saturday morning at St. Patrick's church, and he will be taken to Genesco for burial. [The Dansville Express, Dansville, NY, April 10. 1913, p. 3]


McCARTNEY, Matthew Obituary

Matthew McCartney died in Genesco Tuesday, over 70 years old. He was born in Dansville and his wife who was Emma Heckman died a few years ago. He leaves a son F. H. McCartney of Rochester. McLANE, John Obituary

The Rochester Union of Tuesday says that John McLane of Dansville committed suicide in that city Monday night by taking carbolic acid. He married Mary Rauber of this place and had two or three children. The remains were brought here and buried this morning. [The Dansville Express, Dansville, NY, April 10, 1913, p. 3]

ROWE, EMILY Obituary

Mrs. Emily Rowe, the wife of D. W. Rowe of South Dansville near the Stony Brook Glen, died Saturday, April 5, 1913, at 1:30 p. m. at the age of 71 years. She was the daughter of Thomas Wilbur and was a woman very much beloved by her acquaintances, and as a wife and mother she was revered by her family. She spent twelve weeks the past winter at the Cancertorium at Binghamton and was cured of two cancers, her death being the result of a very severe stroke of apoplexy. Mrs. Rowe leaves her husband D. W. Rowe, three sons, Scott Rowe of Caledonia, Wilber Rowe of this village, and Olin Rowe and a daughter Mrs. Thos. Levers, both of South Danville. The funeral was held at the house on Tuesday and was largely attended by relatives and friends, of whom the deceased had many, Rev. J. E. Manning of the M. E. church of Dansville officiating, and she was buried in Greenmount Cemetery. [The Dansville Express, Dansville, NY, April 10. 1913, p. 3]


SQUIRES, Miss. Emma Obituary

Miss Emma Squires went to Buffalo this week to attend the funeral of Lorna, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pasternack. The child was a very bright and loveable girl and was loved by all her acquaintances. Mrs. Pasternack was formerly Miss Belle Squires of this village. SQUIRES, Mrs. C. P. Obituary

Mrs. C. P. Squires was notified by telegram yesterday of the death of Raymond Squires, her late husband's nephew which occurred at Muskeegan, Mich., Tuesday. The deceased was 50 years old, was the son of the late Capt. W. W Squires and was born in the Squires homestead now owned by Mrs. Catherine Folts. SWIFT, Edward C. Obituary

Edward C. Swift died at his home on VanCampen Street Friday night from heart disease, aged 42 years. He was nurseryman. He leaves a wife and eight children.
