NORTON, Levi Obituary, Jan. 14, 1870

In Ellicott, Chautauqua Co., on the morning of the 10th inst. Mr. Levi Nortin, in the 80th year of his age.

Father Norton was born in Massachusetts, but, since he was ten years old has lived in this state, and the greater of the time in or near Jamestown. He was a man of intelligence and of sober and industrious habits. About 15 years of his life, he made a public profession of the religion of the Lord Jesus Christ, and during that time was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and at his death was a member of the society in Jamestown, by whom he was beloved and by whom he is now mourned.
