Embarked from Camp Merritt, N. J. June 20, 1917. Killed in action Nov. 3, 1918, "Somewhere in Belgium."

Born Apr. 5, 1892, Cirini Province, Palermo, Italy. Came to the United States in Apr. 1909, and was an employe of the Vandalia Railroad, Logansport, Ind. Called for military service by the Italian Government in July 1915. Returned to Italy in August 1915 and immediately entered military service. Served seven months, and was killed in action Mar. 6, 1916, near Cordilana.

Died of influenza Nov. 20, 1918, in Base Hospital, Camp Upton, N. Y. Buried in St. Vincent's Cemetery, Logansport, Ind.

Son of E. Franklin and Emma Jane Fry; born July 24, 1893, Royal Center, Cass County, Ind. When 17 years old moved with parents to Lonebutte, Alberta, Canada. Farmer. Following the declaration of war against Germany, he returned to U. S., and enlisted in 2nd Montana Infantry, National Guard, Lewiston, Mont., July 29, 1917. Overseas in Dec. 1917; assigned to Company F, 163rd Infantry, 41st Division. Killed in action July 18, 1918, Buzancy, France. Buried where he fell.

Son of Seth and Clara Galligan; born Dec. 25, 1897, Logansport, Ind. Enlisted in U.S. Regular Army Oct. 25, 1916, Logansport, Ind. Sent to Columbus Barracks, Ohio. Transferred to Ft. Houston, Tex.; then to Camp Funston, Kans. Saw service on Mexican Border. Went overseas in June, 1917; assigned to Company C, 28th Infantry, 1st Division. Killed by shrapnel fire July 21, 1918, near Soissons, on Moselle. Buried on the battlefield.

Sent to Camp Taylor, Ky.; assigned to 11th Company, 3rd Training Battalion, 159th Depot Brigade. Transferred to Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Ind.; then to Camp Upton, N. Y. While waiting to embark with the 118th Engineers, he contracted pneumonia, and died Oct. 10, 1918. Buried, Manchester, Tenn.

Died of influenza Oct. 2, 1918, in Naval Base Hospital, Brooklyn, N. Y. Buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport, Ind.

Benjamin Harrison, Ind., where he died June 25, 1917. Buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport, Ind. He was the first soldier from Cass County to be buried in his home city.

Son of Melville and Etta Marsh; born May 11, 1885, White County, Ind. Spent most of his life in Cass County. Merchant. Entered Second Officers Training Camp, Fort Sherdian, Ill. in Aug. 1917. Commissioned 1st Lieut. Overseas early in 1918; assigned to Company C, 30th Infantry, 3rd Division. Killed in action Oct. 14, 1918. Awarded Distinguished Service Cross, and French Croix de Guerre, (post-humously) for bravery in action. Survived by widow, Nellie Marsh, and two children, Alice and John, Burnetts Creek, Ind.

Returned to Detroit in July, 1917; transferred to Company C, 120th Machine Gun Battalion. Went overseas in Dec. 1917; wounded in the Battle of the Argonne Forest, and died Oct. 4, 1918, near Mt. Tours, France. Body returned to U.S., and buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport, Ind.

Sent to the Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Chicago, Ill., and assigned to Battleship Nevada, as Fireman. Died of pneumonia Oct. 24, 1918. Buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport, Ind.

Son of Squire Z. and Catherine Scott (deceased); born Nov. 20, 1890, Jackson Township, Cass County, Ind. Employe of Tin Plate Mills, Elwood, Ind., where he was called into service Mar. 29, 1918. Sent to Camp Taylor, Ky. Overseas in Apr. 1918 with Company A, 111th Infantry, 28th Division. Killed in action Sep. 7, 1918, near Fismette, France. Buried on the battlefield. The American Legion Post, Galveston, Ind., is named in his honor.

Went overseas; contracted tuberculosis; returned to United States; received treatment in tuberculosis hospital, Denver, Col. Case pronounced incurable, and he was sent home, Logansport, Ind., where he died Nov. 27, 1919. Buried in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Assigned to Supply Company, 20th Infantry. Transferred to Medical Detachment, War Prison Barracks, Ft. Douglas, Utah, where he died of pneumonia Jan. 2, 1919. Buried in Military Cemetery, Ft. Douglas, Utah. Survived by widow, Pearl Judson Wilson, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Overseas early in Sept. 1917. Served as instructor in trench mortar service, Oct. 1917--Apr. 1918. Killed by accidental discharge of firearms, Apr. 30, 1918, Chatillon-sur-Seine. Buried in St. Thiebaults Cemetery, Chatillon-sur-Seine. Body to be returned to Logansport, Ind. for final interment.
