FORD, William Obituary
In this town, on Friday, the 21st inst. William H. Ford of Charleston, S. C. aged 18. His amiable disposition, and undeviating deportment, acquired him, during the short time he was allowed by Heaven to abide with his fellow students of the Law School, their friendly affection and admiring esteem, while his well regulated mind, industrious energy, and finely-wrought character gave promise to his country of a citizen most dear and valuable in private, most faithful and intelligent in professional life. A member of a numerous and affectionate family, it was his bitter cup to breath his last afar from their endearing presence in a land of strangers, but fixing his hope upon another, a higher and better world, he shrunk not from the draught, and prayed not that the cup might pass, unless such was the pleasure of Him who "does all things for the best," and without whose knowledge, not a sparrow falls to the ground. During an illness of great bodily suffering, his mind was so soothed by the calming influence of a sincere faith, that not an expression of impatience not a murmur of complaint escaped him. And when it pleased his Maker to take to himself his soul, he resigned it with a prayer of thanksgiving upon his lips. [Litchfield County Post, (Litchfield, Conn.), July 25, 1826, P.3.]
