WILSON, Dr. Frederick M. Obituary

The City's Loss
Dr. Frederick M. Wilson, whose sudden death while on a visit to Panama and other places in the South was announced yesterday, was one of Bridgeport's best known medical men. As a specialist in eye troubles he ranked high and his ability was recognized far beyond the city and state limits. A son of New England, a native of a small town in Maine, he moved away from the narrow field to the broader one, Dr. Wilson came to Bridgeport nearly forty years ago to make his way. He has grown with the city and was a useful citizen in many walks of life. His activity in hospital work was constant and he was devoted to his special branch of the medical profession. He traveled extensively and had a wide fund of knowledge. His death is a distinct loss to Bridgeport. [The Bridgeport Telegram, (Bridgeport, Ct.), January 9, 1918, page 3]
