New Horizons Genealogy is a long-standing, off-the-grid resource for family historians. Unlike sites that rely on search bars and name-indexing, it organizes thousands of raw transcriptions by county and record type, making it an invaluable tool for finding off-the-beaten-path historical documents.

We are a small family owned and operated family organization that has been combing Court Houses, County Clerks Offices, Records Archives and Libraries, walking Cemeteries for over 18 years. We have been researching our own family genealogies for about 10 years prior to starting this website.

About Our Verification and Transcription Process

At New Horizons Genealogy we transcribe many historical records from many sources and mediums. We do our best to provide historical records from as close to the original source as possible. Most of our records are hand transcribed and proofread in order to provide the most accurate records possible. We do reformat many of our records to give our readers the best user experience possible.

We do occasionally use OCR (optical character recognition) software, and other technologies. When websites use the OCR and AI technology, it can provide very skewed, and often times very jumbled up data. These technologies work best on nice easy to read records and books but not ideal for old historical data. When we do use these technologies we manually proofread everything. 100% of our archive is hand-verified by a real human being and completely free of raw AI errors.
